GOVERNOR EDWARD G. RENDELL

Dear Friend,
Today I announce my support and endorsement of Rick Vilello for the United States Congress in Pennsylvania’s 5th District.        
I am giving my support and endorsement to the only candidate who I believe has the experience, leadership and commitment to make the hard choices and changes necessary to move Pennsylvania’s 5th District forward.   That candidate is Rick Vilello.
 

I have known Rick since my first term as Governor and over these six years have gained valuable insight into what he believes and what he stands for.  Mayor Vilello has a genuine passion and love for Lock Haven and its people and he would like to put that same passion to work for all the people of the 5th Congressional District.  He has served the public trust with honesty, integrity and devotion, and I know he can, and will, do even more in Congress.   
 

In the past six years, the Mayor and I have worked closely on several community and economic development projects in Lock Haven and Clinton County.  These projects included a $550 million brownfield reclamation at the former Hammermill Papers plant which resulted in the addition of 400 jobs by First Quality Tissue; a $5 million streetscape improvement in the City’s business district, the formation of a Main Street Program for the downtown, and a city-wide housing rehabilitation program. 
 

Most recently, it has been my pleasure to work with Mayor Vilello on a new hotel, condominium and restaurant project within the city at a former school district football field known as Painter Stadium.

In addition to the 15 million dollars in private investment, the project is expected to produce numerous economic benefits, including the creation of as many as 210 new employment opportunities for residents of the City and County, as well as placing this previously school district owned property back on the tax rolls.

In today’s world it is refreshing to find someone as honest and hard-working as Rick who reflects the values we need in our communities. Pennsylvania’s 5th District needs Rick Vilello. 
 
I am endorsing Rick Vilello for Congressman in the 5th Congressional District and I am asking everyone to vote on April 22nd for Rick Vilello.
